Funny. Somebody asked me that very same question the other day. To be frank, I answered "...It is not a brick and morter building operation" I was at Stewarts' Shop in Au Sable Forks, getting a coffee and a breakfast sandwich - on my way at 6 am to Saratoga for a finish carpetry job. It is tue - we do not have an expensive office or shop to maintain - we are a close knit group of individuals working out of our homes. You might be surprised how many folks can and do work right from their homes! Perhaps you already know that. Todays technology allows for that paradigm and it is very cost effective! Hi!. That is David in the picture, next to a wood shed River Edge Services built for a customer - and although he is holding a maul in this picture, he did not split that wood - but Rivers Edge Services can perform that service as well. David has over 20 years in software and database design, web and mobile technologies. He has worked professionaly for some of the largest corporations around: General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Corning as well as other enterprise organizations up and down the eastern seaboard. David holds a Microsoft Certification, Undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York, and completed graduate work in Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic & State University via the General Electric A-Course in Engineering.
Okay, what about all this construction work? In his spare time, David found that his love for woodworking provided a balance for the demands of corporate life and has worked with Union Carpenters and Drywall installers, private construction firms, has served as a glass glazier for a window and door company and as maintenance assistant at Ward Lumber in Jay, NY. Dave says - "It is the perfect combination - Construction and Software have similar makeups - a bunch of tools and raw materials - all you need to do is put it together - it already exists if some one has thought of it."
There are so many folks that work with Rivers Edge Services, there is simply not enough space to begin to list them all. Mostly, Rivers Edge Services strives to hire locally for software and construction projects - or as they now call it Eco -Local. Keep the money here if possible.
