You will not believe this – but it can happen… If you screw around with Widgets and drag them over to the side bar and have fun moving things around – DO NOT FORGET to move the META widget into the sidebar – if you fail to do this, your Wordpress login link vanishes! I was able to recover nicely because I used my browser BACK button until I reached the login page I used earlier to mess around, and then dragged the META to the side bar and now the Login, etc. appears. BE CAREFUL.

Well the rogue spammers are still adding nonsense Uersids to Coppermine at the rate of 10 per week. I searched goggle for any information pertaining to exploits or spam on Coppermine and came up empty. I suppose I will take for a bit longer then search for a Coppoermine Gallery replacement. Keep watching for updates…

Happy New year and all that stuff. Update on Coppermine: I have been using it for my photo gallery for about 2 months now – all has been good until the SPAM happened. I changed some settings to disallow new users from loading up my picture comments with web advertising, but I cannot seem to figure out why SPAM can still create userids. So I have to check every once in a while and delete the userids – and the control panel does not allow me to view the new user email addresses (I cannot find out who the SPAMers are!). Need to figure out if there is a free product for garbled text security (you know those type the letters you see in the graphics pic and then submit)

There is much to talk about as of late – I getting into more of the free stuff – and will blog about it more later. Mostly I am testing Wordpress and Coppermine… stay tuned… – David
